This year, I decided to have a little fun with our Butterfly Issue. Since our Butterfly Issue is all about change, transformation, and growth; I figured there was no better time than the present to change it up. After pondering over it for a bit, I thought, wouldn't it be cool if we did a livestream event?! What started out as a few interviews over a weekend, turned into a week-long 'live' issue featuring Love U Magazine contributors and several guest speakers. The event kept getting bigger as excitement began to build. We started to promote the event on our social media channels and through Facebook ads. Best yet, people were actually signing up! I couldn't have planned it better if I had tried. And then, it all fell apart. For some, October is a month of pumpkins, horror movies and quirky accessories. For others, it’s the month of Halloween -- the much anticipated day of ‘dress-up.’ However, deciding whether to be cute or sexy, scary or not scary, can be a daunting task. How scary is too scary? Is going all-out on some latex too far? The answer is: NO! Grab that latex and paint yourself from head to toe! Halloween is the one time per year we can spray fake blood all over our clothes, coat our face in glitter and have some special effects fun. This year, instead of grabbing those trusted cat ears and smudging on your favorite eyeliner, try something new and have fun doing it! We’ve rounded up our favorite on-screen women for a little inspiration. From Hollywood fashion to chick-flick classic, we’re exploring looks from some of our favorite movie and television icons. That’s right, we’re talking from Audrey Hepburn to Cher from “Clueless.” You can choose to keep these cute, or you can check out our tips at the end of the post if you prefer a little ‘Halloween makeup.’ No matter if you like it classic or scary, just remember to have fun and rock this year’s costume with confidence! Fashion can be a tricky field to navigate -- and it was even more unforgiving when the industry only accepted and designed for one particular body type. Fortunately, the world of fashion is changing in a positive way, in part prompted by online enthusiasts who promote stylish clothes for all women. In line with body-positive philosophy, the following Instagram hashtags are proving that great fashion sense comes in all shapes and sizes -- while providing amazing style inspiration for all followers. |
