Confidence is the New Beauty

12/7/2017

We spend most of our lives not only discovering who we are as a person, but also trying to figure out what our purpose is. We find ourselves trying to keep up with all the latest fashion trends, like hair, make-up, clothing and shoes, things that are assets to defining our inner beauty. However, these are things that are temporary, things that make us feel good for a moment. How about feeling good, for the long run? Being in it to win it? To be able to wear your crown high and be proud of the Queen inside you?

We all have a gift that we are born with, we just have to find out what it is and use it to our advantage. Social Media, like traditional media before it,  has shaped society’s perception of what an “ideal woman” should look like. For years, women have been trying to live up to society’s standards. It’s becoming very common, to see beautiful women comparing themselves to other, beautiful woman.

So, let me ask you this, what defines beauty? Is it a person’s height, weight, or the way their body looks? Is it the way they walk, talk, laugh, or smile? Beauty has many different attributes, but one of the biggest, and most important is confidence. The feeling of self-assurance from one’s appreciation of one’s own abilities or qualities, confidence is what’s going to separate you from everyone else. But, have you ever wondered how you get confidence?

You Act the Part

Body language is easy to read. It speaks for you, it can immediately reflect self-assurance, and show that you are not insecure. When you walk around maintaining an upright posture, your shoulders back, and your head held high, you are owning confidence. You are showing that you are ready for all the great things that are to come.

Dress the Part

One thing that goes hand in hand with confidence is elegance. You want to wear clothes that fit, something that compliments your figure. You want to keep it classy and simple, don’t over accessorize and wear classic colors. Try your best to avoid always wearing black, and have some fun with it by switching it up with neon or pastel colors.

Speak Boldly

They say you can tell a lot about a person by not only the way they dress but how they speak. You want to be able to speak boldly, but not overly demanding. You want to be able to project that you are confident in what you are saying and that you believe in what you are saying will make a difference. It’s good to speak from the heart, it shows that you’re passionate, but it’s also better to speak from the mind as it reflects strength.

Think and Act Positively

Make sure you are maintaining a positive mindset. Having a positive mindset will allow you to grow into that beautiful confident woman that you're destined to be. You have to start thinking positive, that you can do it and that you will do it. You have to start thinking that you have what it takes to get there and do it. It all starts with you! Sometimes, we are suffocated by our negative thoughts, and this type of mindset restricts us from growing. It’s time to think and act positively, once you start doing that you will begin to move mountains.

1,2,3…Action

It’s time to take action into what we are saying. Anyone can talk about their dreams, but what are they willing to do to get there? Not everything in life is going to be handed to you, you have to go out there and take action. It’s like becoming a motivational speaker, you have to research topics that you are going to be talking about, prepare your speeches, and look for events that will allow you to be their guest speaker. Just like confidence, great things take time, it doesn’t happen overnight, figure out what it is that you want, create a plan, and take action.

Each of us has a purpose, and we are all designed to do something great! Believe in yourself, that you can, and you will. Confidence is achieved by acting and dressing the part, speaking boldly, thinking and acting positively, and taking action. Do this and you will start noticing a change in the way others perceive you, and most importantly, the way you perceive yourself!
